Q1

How did you decide to buy it in the first place? What was the pitch you made to yourself?

Transcript

I didn't make any particular pitch to myself. I just wanted to have a comfortable chair for when I'm working since I spend a lot of hours in front of my desk, you know, my desk. But yeah, so that's, that's what made me buy it.

Q2

Walk me through the last thing you bought that you ended up regretting — even a little.

Transcript

The last thing I bought that I regretted buying is this chair that I'm sitting on. It is comfortable, but at the same time, I realized that precisely because it's comfortable, I don't stand up that much anymore, and this is hurting my back more. So this is, you know, mostly the reason.

Q3

Was there a moment, before clicking buy, where you almost stopped? What pulled you back in?

Transcript

There was not such a moment, and in fact, I didn't have to click to buy this one. It's one of the few things that I bought in person at an Ikea store, so it wasn't an online purchase. I actually had the chance to try it and I found it very comfortable.

Q4

What did you do when the regret kicked in — return it, keep using it, pretend it didn't happen?

Transcript

I didn't do anything. I am still using this chair. I'm still sitting on it. But I have become aware of the indirect negative consequences it's having on my back. So I try to stand up more as I used to do in the past.

Q5

If you could rewind that decision, what's the one thing you'd actually change?

Transcript

I would probably consider a different chair, one of those that would not in the long run hurt my back if I were to just sit as much as I do now, so a more ergonomic chair probably.
